Future MRS. PENOI

I think I have already informed you guys, in one way or another that Toper and I are already planning our wedding next year.. I just don’t formally announce it yet coz I have been waiting for his formal proposal… hehehe… Its funny coz the planning push through first, then the “pamamanhikan” before his formal proposal… Though he asked me to marry him long time ago, the symbol of his intent was given to me just last Saturday, a day before our 1 year anniversary as a couple.

Hmmm, some of you may have wondered how fast the cycle went through, our only answer to that is “If you are sure he/she is the one you want for the rest of your life, and the feeling is mutual, then go for it!!!”. When I was young and very idealistic, I wanted a long time relationship, for you to get to know each other blah blah blah…. But it seems long time relationship before marriage will not work for me… I mean there are successful couples who have been dating for years before they got engaged and got married but there are also couples whom along passing of time have fallen out of love with each other only to find out that they were not compatible or worst they really dont love one another…. In this world, nothing is ideal, “what happens to Pedro doesn’t mean it will happen to Juan”, right? So back to our love story… We know each other ever since we are in HS. Errrr, i know him since he is famous with his band in school. Drummer– awww so cute, so appealing… but nah I’m not one of those girls gigling at the site of him, his not my type… hehehe… I don’t think he knows I exist during HS too coz I am noone… “a geek” as he describes…. so who’s the geek now huh? His madly inlove with a geek hehehe… Then we were classmates during our college days.. but we were mere acquaintances, not that close either….

Back to engagement… We went to Sentosa to celebrate our 1st year anniversary coz I thought I’d have to go to work on the anniversary itself.. So we went ahead… While at the top of the Merlion’s head.. he told me “Isuot mo na ung sing sing mo” (wear your ring). Kinda puzzled that I am already wearing the one and only ring I have, I forgot that this might be the time he’d propose, of all places… They were less than 10 people there but we felt like it was only the two of us… I think he is too shy to ask and I was surprised that I felt like I’ll melt… I told him to ask me first hehehe.. then he popped the question “Will you marry me?” I feel like laughing my brains out coz he is so uneasy with his words.. he really is not the mushy type of person… then he repeated the question.. and I said “YES, i’ll marry you” kilig**** That was such an experience… I thought I can very well handle it since we were like already planning our wedding but it still is a surprise…
